The Northland Antique Radio ClubNARC 2025 Annual Meeting RecapThe September 7th Annual Meeting started in the morning with a swap meet in the Comfort Inn's parking lot in Plymouth, Minnesota. Attendance was smaller than usual, possibly due to the NARC Radio Sale in Delano the day before.
The meeting began at noon in the hotel ballroom. Bill Fanum reminded us of the upcoming NARC Indoor Fall Swap Meet at Hopkins High School on November 1st and also told us about the antique radio display that he and fellow NARC member George Reisdorf were setting up again in the demonstration building at the Albany Pioneer Days show in Albany, Minnesota. He invited any of us who would like to display some radios there, or help man the display for a few hours, to come to the show that ran from September 11-14. They hope to raise awareness, especially in younger people, of the radio collecting hobby and possibly sign up some new club members. Bill also mentioned the Northland Antique Radio Club Facebook page which then had around 53 members and he encouraged members to use it to ask questions about their radios. Jim Thompson recapped the May Radio Daze event and complimented NARC for continuing to be a strong club while many of the other old radio clubs are declining. He has booked the NARC Workshop at the Comfort Inn for February 8, 2026 and has scheduled next May's Radio Daze event at the same hotel for May 15-16, 2026. Greg Farmer announced results of the election for officers. All of last year's officers are returning for another year of service. They are: The Show & Tell session included Jeff Hed showing a small Sony SRSX55 Bluetooth speaker with sub-woofers that sounded great! Matt Hyman showed an Arvin Hopalong Cassidy metal radio that he recently found at a sale. Bill Veilleux had Pepsi and Coca-Cola novelty radios and Bill Fanum showed a no-name radio in a homemade cabinet that he had picked up at the Delano sale.
