WORKSHOP at the PAVEK MUSEUM

Sunday, February 23, 2020, at 12 Noon

Pavek Museum
3517 Raleigh Avenue, St. Louis Park, Minnesota

For the 33rd consecutive year, beginning with our first radio workshop back in 1988, the Northland Antique Radio Club invites all NARC members and Pavek Museum sponsors to attend our annual Radio Workshop. Whether you work on your own radios or not, you'll enjoy the workshop, and it is free!

Prior to the workshop, there will be trunk sales outside in the parking lot, weather permitting, so bring whatever radio items you want to sell and be sure to bring some cash in case you find something you need to buy! There is usually a fair amount of activity in the parking lot by 10 a.m., and unless it is extremely cold or snowing outside, this is usually a worthwhile swap meet to attend, and it is free!

The museum doors will open at 11 a.m. and snacks, soft drinks and coffee will be provided. The museum has been reorganizing their displays to make better use of their back room, so hopefully that area will be open to view, along with the rest of the museum. The hour before the workshop begins is a great time to browse around the museum and socialize with the other collectors.

We are excited to report that Steve Raymer has put together another great program for the 2020 workshop, including the following presenters and the topics they plan to talk about:

Bob Evans WB0IQT will show us how he scratch-designs Regenerative Receivers (30 min)

Bill Williams: Modifying a Philco 20 (20 - 30 min)

Randy Olson: Quantitative Analysis of Capacitor Aging (30 min)

Steve Raymer: KLH Model 11 and Al Lein's ESR Meter (20 min)

Additional topics may be covered, and there will of course be a Show & Tell similar to what we've done the past few years. This year, please bring your favorite radio and tell us about it. Maybe it was your first radio, a radio from someone special, one that performs better than the others or has an unusual circuit, or maybe it's just weird or cute, or whatever. Everyone enjoys seeing the radios that others have collected, and prizes will be given to the three voted most popular by the audience.

See you there!
