Twelfth Annual Radio Workshop
at
The Pavek Museum of Broadcasting

February 6th, 2000 (Sunday)

One of the most unpleasant surprises encountered during the rebuilding of a radio is finding out that the loudspeaker field winding is open. This is an especially disheartening discovery after you've paid a lot of money to have the speaker re-coned. Fortunately, for all of us living in the Twin Cities, Ken Warren of Northland Classic Radio can fix your open field winding. On Sunday, February 6th, 2000, Ken will share the secrets of this very specialized skill.

For those of you who might be thinking about taking the Pavek's Vintage Radio Service Course this spring, we'll give you a sneak preview of the how the course is designed and implemented.

We'll also reveal some of the quick fixes that have taken lots of time to discover, including a brief discussion of IF coil design.

And, to further amaze and enlighten you, we will demonstrate our 39-116 Philco with the wireless remote control.

Finally, Matt Hyman will bring us up to date on all the latest developments of the Internet. I was surprised to see how many of you are frequent traders on Ebay.

This promises to be one of the most varied and interesting workshops ever. Don't miss it!

The workshop will be held at 1PM on Sunday February 6th, 2000 at The Pavek Museum of Broadcasting, located at 3515 Raleigh Avenue, St. Louis Park, Minnesota 55416. The Museum will open its doors at twelve noon.

Pray for nice weather because preceeding the workshop will be the usual outdoor flea market and trunk sales! This will start whenever the first collector gets there - usually mid-morning.

Admission is free to all current Pavek Museum and NARC members (and immediate family members). Membership forms will be available for anyone wishing to join the club. As usual, there will also be free snacks, so be sure to come!
