Radio Daze is returning to its regular time slot on the third weekend of May!
With Covid-19 restrictions lightened up, we expect good attendance and an abundance of radios and related things to be offered for sale. The schedule of events used in recent years has been working very well, so it will remain the same for our 35th year of hosting Radio Daze, Radio Daze 2022.

There will be an auction of vintage radio equipment on Friday evening, plus a swap meet, radio contest, and program on Saturday, all at the Comfort Inn Plymouth located at 3000 Harbor Lane, near the intersection of highways 55 and 494 in Plymouth, Minnesota. If you want to stay at this hotel, special reduced $99 per night (plus tax) room rates for either Double or King rooms, are available for Thursday through Saturday nights iif you mention that you are coming for the Radio Daze radio show and make your reservation by May 6. The Comfort Inn's reservation phone number is (763) 559-1222.

The meet begins with a large antique radio auction in the hotel main ballroom at 7:00 pm, Friday May 20. As usual, there will be a good variety of radios available to bid on at this entertaining auction. To sell your radio(s) at the auction (10 lots maximum), check them in between 2:00 and 6:00 pm Friday. You can download or print an Auction Entry Form if you want to fill it out before arriving. This auction is always well attended and is an inexpensive way to sell your vintage radios. There are no buyer or seller percentage fees. The only charge to sell is a flat $5 per item entry fee, plus an additional $2 if you want the item to have a reserve price. Auction preview is 6:00 to 7:00 pm, with the auction starting at 7:00 pm. Auction details are in the Radio Daze 2022 brochure.

The Saturday swap meet begins shortly after dawn in the hotel parking lot. Please note that the permit from the City of Plymouth does not allow sales prior to Saturday. The hospitality room will be open at 7:00 am with hot coffee, soda, water, rolls, cookies, and snacks. The registration table opens at 8:00 a.m. in the hotel's main ballroom.

Please bring something from your collection to enter in the radio contest! Contest categories are described in the Radio Daze 2022 brochure. Item check in for the contest will be from 11:00 am to 11:45 am, with viewing from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and you can pick your entry up any time after 2:00 pm.

Nearby options for lunch include Lucky's 13 Pub within the hotel and other restaurants nearby, including Perkins, Arby's, Burger King, Wendy's, Davanni's Pizza, and others.

The Saturday program begins at 2:00 pm and includes contest awards, door prizes, and a performance by The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society. They have performed entertaining radio plays, complete with costumes, props and sound effects for more than two decades and NARC is excited to have them for our entertainment at Radio Daze 2022!

Registration is required for admittance to all indoor events, the Hospitality Room, the Pavek Museum, and to sell items in the parking lot. Registration is encouraged, but not required, for anyone just attending the auction or buying at the swap meet. You can pre-register (and save $4.00) by returning a 2022 pre-registration form before May 13th. After you arrive, please pick up your name badge and other materials at the registration table in the hotel's main ballroom.

Registering for Radio Daze also gives you free admission during Radio Daze to the extensively remodeled Pavek Museum, located at 3517 Raleigh Avenue in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The Museum will be open from 10am - 5pm both Friday and Saturday. Be sure to stop by to check it out!

The auction, the swap meet, the contest and program, and seeing our radio collecting friends again, keeps us coming back. Please mark May 20 and 21, 2022, on your calendar today!
