NARC FALL INDOOR SWAP MEET REPORT

Saturday November 2, 2013
St. Croix Lutheran High School
1200 Oakdale Avenue, West St. Paul, Minnesota

November 2, 2013 was a little chilly outside, but sales were good at the old radio swap in St. Croix Lutheran High School's cafeteria! Sellers got in at 8:00 am, and everyone, with carts full, quickly got to work setting up their tables with radios, magazines, tubes and related items. We only had a half hour to set up since the doors opened at 8:30 am. Mary and her son Steven Farmer handled registration and quickly processed everyone through. They also had donuts, coffee, and soft drinks ready for us!

Activity was especially busy for the first hour and there was a wide variety of items for sale, as in past years. One vendor had his grandsons help haul in 54 radios to sell and said sales were great. Another vendor had some highly collectible early battery sets including a Federal 110, Kennedy 220, Kennedy 281, and a Kennedy 110. Other vendors displayed a wide variety of radios of all types.

At 10:30, Mary opened the lunch counter. For $3 you could buy a nice lunch consisting of hot dogs, cookies, chips and pop. Not a bad deal. The Silent Auction had some things entered, but that venue never seems to get as much interest as you'd expect. The drawing was at noon, and everyone cleared out shortly after that. It looked like everyone had a good time!
